Ski Trails Grooming Reports

6:00 am – Will be dragging the skate lanes again today as we wait for more snow to fall! Pinder, Kinsmen 2k, Red Pine and Crystal system will be completed. 7:30 am update – Pinder system including exensions completed. 9:30 am update – Kinsmen 2k and Red Pine completed 11:00 am update – Crystal system is completed. Enjoy the day out there!

6:00 am – Will be touching up the skate lanes again today, starting with the Pinder and Kinsmen 2k. 7:30 am update – Pinder system and extensions skate lanes renovated – tracks in good condition. Will do the same for the Kinsmen 2k now and that will be it for today. 8:30 am update – completed. Have a great day!

6AM: Heading out to renovate skate lanes. As usual, the Pinder will be done first with it’s extensions. The Kinsmen Lighted and Crystal system will be next, followed by the Red Pine. 10:30AM Update: All skate lanes have been dressed up. Tracks remain in good condition although there are a few spots that have accumulated some minor debris. Additional note from today’s groomer: You may be wondering why we have not been resetting the tracks as often as in most seasons. The answer is simple and complicated at the same time! Simply put, if we don’t think we can improve trails, we don’t. It’s better to leave a decent track alone than to work hard only to find it not improved – or possibly even worse. This season is presenting the challenge of very little fresh snow and not enough accumulated base. For this reason, we cannot always till deeply or effectively with the “big machine” to properly reset the track – especially on cold mornings when the base is very hard. On these days we smooth out the skate lanes and leave the tracks as they are. And of course, we wish for some fresh snow!

The trails got a fresh groom this morning and are ready to rock for the weekend. Recommended PSI: 5-6

Tracks are in good condition and will not be reset today. 10:45AM: All skate lanes are now done! Reminder that the Hiawatha extension remains closed.

6;00 am – grooming the Pinder first thing this morning. The plan is to head to the Kinsmen 2k and Crystal following that. 8:45 am update – Pinder system is done, so Crystal and Kinsmen 2k is next. 10:30 am update – Crystal system is groomed including Olympic and Inner loop. 12:00 pm update – Trails are groomed for today.
