Hiawatha Highlands is pleased to offer learn-to-ski lessons for adults and families/groups.
Instructors are CANSI (Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors) certified.
Learn the basics of the traditional (classic) cross country style and skate skiing, so you can enjoy the trails and being active in the winter. For skiers from beginner to intermediate level. For those who want to gain more confidence on the trails. For those who want to improve their skiing skills.
For adults (18 yrs & over) and children (5 yrs & over)
(Children under 15 yrs must be accompanied by an adult)
Week days and weekends - We will work with you and your schedule! Times can be available in the morning, afternoon and evenings.
Individual: $35.00 + tax - private lesson, 1 hour, pass and rent not included or $55 + tax with pass and rent
Groups of 2: $25.00 + tax - per person, 1 hour, pass and rent not included or $45 + tax per person with pass and rent included
Groups 3 or more: $20 + tax - per person, 1 hour, pass and rent not included) or $40 + tax per person with pass and rent included
Children 12 & under: $15 + tax - Must book lesson with adult. - 1 hour, no pass or rent or $30 + tax to include pass and rent
Kids 4 week Group Lessons: Ages 4 & 5 (parent supported) 6 & 7, 8 & 9 and 10 & 11.
Starts Friday Jan 29th to Feb 19th time slots are 6 pm for ages 8 & 9 and 7 pm for ages 10 & 11 and Sunday Jan 31st to Feb 21st, time slots are 2 pm for ages 4 & 5 and 3 pm for ages 6 & 7.
Cost is $60 + tx for 4-1 hour lessons. $120+tax if equipment is needed.

3 lesson progressive package for individuals: $90.00 + tax - 1 hour each lesson. Pass and rent not included or $150 + tax to include pass and rent. (savings of $15.00)
New this year, season pass holders wanting to improve their skiing will get an additional $5.00 off of their first lesson.
Booking your Lesson now for the 2021 season. Due to the lockdown Lessons will start once the lockdown is lifted at the end of January.

Please arrive with enough time to check in at the Kincentre and be ready to start your lesson on time. If you need a trail pass or ski equipment, please do that prior to the start time of your lesson. (If you already have a current trail pass and/or your own equipment, there is no further discount for the lesson)

- A $20 deposit per student will be charged at time of booking to confirm lessons
- Final payment will be taken day of lesson

Greg has been skiing for over 30 years and is certified by The Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) as a cross-country ski instructor. Greg has a strong passion for Nordic skiing and likes providing supportive and enjoyable ski lessons in a one on one setting. He is comfortable teaching both classic and skate skiing techniques for beginners through to more advanced skiers and can provide ski instruction for individuals or groups. Jill has been skiing for 35 years. She started with the Jackrabbit program when she was 5 years old and continued with the program until high school. She has her Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors (CANSI) certificate. This will be Jill's second year giving private lessons at Hiawatha and her 5th year as a Jackrabbit coach. Maureen has skied all her life, enjoying the trails across Ontario and beyond. She has retained her passion for sharing her love of skiing to both youth and adults. Her approach to teaching is to introduce balance, and ease of movement to save energy and increase a skier’s confidence. She is trained to teach both traditional classic skiing and free style (commonly referred to as skate skiing). Over the years Maureen has taught youth Jack Rabbit classes, junior racers, masters skiers and hosted women on skis events across Canada.

André has been skiing for over 12 years and has been certified by the Canadian Association of Nordic Skiing. André enjoys helping others improve their technique for anyone from beginner skiers to racers to improve their times and to feel more confident in their skis.
