Snow School with a Level One Instructor

We offer a unique winter adventure field trip in Cross-Country Ski and Snowshoe instruction and winter adventure to both the Public and Separate school boards. Our National Coaching Certified Program (NCCP) instructors and staff bring a wealth of experience to your students in a fun, healthy, and safe environment. We are equipped for Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing for Grades 4 to 8. We have worked with High school grades as well.  Hiawatha Highlands offers these activities to introduce children to outdoor winter recreational activities, and to encourage self-confidence and self-esteem.

Booking and Cancellation

$21.00 – $26.00 per day/student (HST included)

This fee includes use of the Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe equipment, instructor, transportation and a reserved area in our facility for warming up and having lunch. We have a small snack canteen but bag lunch is recommended and we do not have options to heat anything.  Our maximum size per group is 45 students and our minimum is 20 for the $21.00 rate. Confirmation of class numbers is required 1 week before visit to guarantee the $21.00 rate. If your class drops below 19 or less the fee would change to $26.00. We require a 2 week cancellation notice if you need cancel your date. If it falls within the 2 week there will be a $100 administration fee charged to the school.

Our weather cancellation policy is -18 C or colder. This is for everyone’s safety.

Smaller classes 19 or less can be accommodated at a rate of $26.00 per student per day. Participants of the ski program will learn movement on skis, the traditional classic technique, as well as gliding and control on hills. Or, they can join us for a snowshoe explore winter adventure and take in the beauty of towering pines, the Crystal falls, and thick trees that are usually loaded with fluffy white snow. Regardless of the choice, lots of fun and learning is a guarantee.

Please Note:
We will arrange and pay for transportation at absolutely no extra charge (within city). Bus pickup time is between 9:15 and 9:30. There is also no charge for teachers wishing to assist with their students. Children with special needs are welcome with their teachers/aids to provide the additional support they may require.

Teachers or Supervisors are asked to make sure students are dressed appropriately for outdoor activities (i.e. snow pants, hats, mitts). We recommend that students do not wear jeans or running shoes.

Bookings are made on a first come first serve basis. The number of students attending must be confirmed 1 week prior to the booking date to guarantee the proper rate.
