Spring Conditions & Grooming

This time of year, the trails are extremely hard with the spring like conditions.  If the tracks are in good shape, then we only renovate the skate lanes. To till out the old tracks in icy conditions is very difficult at times, especially in colder weather.  Our operators are not favoring skate skiers over classic skiers and vise versa. If the track starts to washout, then our groomers will definitely till out old track.  Playing too much with these types of conditions will make them go away 10 times faster when the sun comes out.  We have also had a lot of rain, thaws and freezes throughout this season, so you may think there is a lot of base to play with…but it is all ice, no snow under that hard surface. Thank you, Grooming Team
