Ontario University Championships – Nordic Skiing

This race will have both closed (OUA category) races and OPEN race categories for U18/U20/Senior.

REMINDER: Event Notice – 2025 Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Championships
On February 20-23rd, Soo Finnish Nordic Ski Club and Algoma University will be hosting the Ontario
University Athletics (OUA) Nordic Skiing Championships. Over 150 athletes plus their supporters from
around the province will be racing on the Crystal Trail System and extensions, including the Kinsmen
Lighted, and as a result, these trails will be closed to all recreational trail users.

As parking will be at a premium until 1 pm each day, we encourage our regular customers to take part in
their favourite activities on Feb 20-23rd on the trails indicated below, with access as noted:

Cross country skiing:
o Pinder system with parking in the North and South Pinder parking lots
o Red Pine system with roadside parking and access from Fourth Line E (across from Wishart Park), or
Landslide Rd.
o Mabel Lake Flats trail with access from the Connor Rd parking lot
o Crystal system – CLOSED until 1 pm on Sunday, Feb 23rd

Fat biking:
o Mabel Lake Flats trail with access from the Connor Rd parking lot
o Farmer Bob’s Loop with parking in the North and Sound Pinder parking lots
o Crystal system (including Myles to Go) – CLOSED until 1 pm on Sunday, Feb 23rd

Snowshoeing:
o Pinder system with parking in the North and South Pinder parking lot(s)
o Mabel Lake trail with access from the Connor Rd parking lot
o Crystal system – CLOSED until 1 pm on Sunday, Feb 23
