Sponsorships help continue some important Hiawatha Highlands programs that build community, promote health and wellbeing and foster a love for the outdoors.

Highschool Ski Program

For many students, a visit to Hiawatha Highlands through our Youth on Trails Program is their first experience with cross-country skiing or spending time on our beautiful winter trails. By subsidizing transportation, passes, and equipment rentals, we ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation. Sponsorships allow us to bring more students outdoors, helping them build confidence, develop healthy habits, and discover activities they can enjoy for a lifetime. Together, we can create meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire the next generation to be active, connected, and engaged in our community.

55+ Monday Program

This program offers a structured winter sport initiative featuring cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking. The program offers guided sessions led by skilled peer-ambassadors, who share a goal of fostering physical activity, social interaction, and mental well-being for older adults living in Sault Ste. Marie. Participants enjoy camraderie, skill development, and safe, inclusive outdoor recreation in a supportive environment.

We offer snacks throughout the program after their activities to help foster a sense of community and build a space for social connection.

We hope to grow this program by offering transportation from Senior’s Centres to our facility.
